If you’re on social media, you might have heard of a “finsta.” If you’re scratching your head at what that is, no worries. On Sept. 30th, a short clip of Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal grilling Facebook Head of Global Safety Antigone Davis about “ending finstas” at a Senate Commerce Committee hearing went viral online. Out of context, that clip might demonstrate an out-of-touch awareness with a younger generation. But it might not have been too off-base.
In this week’s edition of Bridging the Gap, producer Teresa Yen explores the world of finstas, and how the word entered a discussion at US Senate hearing.
