Because of Tiktok’s popularity and its connection to the content creation world, music artists now are promoting their music on Tiktok in hopes that it would go viral, whether it’s having someone make up a dance that others would cover, or that parts of their songs would be used for a trend of sorts. However, not all artists are thrilled to promote their music on this platform. Last month, singer/songwriter Hasley posted a video on Tiktok exposing her label, saying that she wasn’t allowed to release new music unless one of her Tiktoks go viral. This week, we’ll be talking about how much the music industry has changed its way of marketing music.
