Agora Art Fair 2019 – Beginning a New Decade of Artistic Expression and Community Collaboration

Saturday, August 17, 2019
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
5500 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI
www.agoraartfair.com and on Facebook

Over 100 Wisconsin Artists will be showcased in the 11th Annual Fitchburg Agora Art Fair set amid the stunning architecture of Agora and the natural prairie landscape of southern Wisconsin. We are proud to feature local and regional artists from every medium including painting, ceramics, jewelry, photography, glass, metals, woodwork, mixed media, fiber and sculpture. Featured Artist include: Steven Wagner, Timothy Kobs, Bruce Johnson, Rob Igl, Paula Sparks, Barbara Westfall, Kerri Shannon, Char Terbeest-Kudla and many other familiar Wisconsin Artists.

New in 2019 is Momentum Paints Agora Live! Artist, C3PO will demonstrate live traditional techniques used in the graffiti art medium while he creates an image sure to capture any audience. Each step of the process is a crucial part of the finished piece and attendees will be able to witness this transformation live. Event attendees will also get a chance to paint on a second community wall and test their own skills. Through this collaboration, the Agora Art Fair will push new boundaries of Art Expression in this partnership with Momentum Art Tech Madison. Artistic expression can bridge many cultural gaps, graffiti art will be the tool showing art can be used as a positive influence among people of all demographics and ages.
Besides the wonderful art, there are plenty of other activities, including live music on two stages, a Wisconsin Craft Brew & Wine Garden, a Children’s Art Yard, local food and beverage choices, retailer specials, and returning this year, the Hand-On Art Experience – why should the kids have all the fun!

Expanding this year is Art in the Wind – A kite-flying exhibition that showcases unique, one of a kind kites that “paint” the sky over the Festival grounds.
Live Music Lineup includes: The Madison Flute Club, Red Hot Horn Dawgs, West Side Andy featuring Reverend Raven & the CSAB, Bí Dána, and Grupo Balanca with Samba/Carnival influences.

We’ve added more local restaurants this year with expanded offering and diversity. They include: Surya Café, Liliana’s, Rolling Pin Bake Shop, Soho Gourmet Cuisine, Sabor Queretano, Jakarta Cafe, Slide, Yum Yum Home-Made Ice Cream, and Chippy’s Kettle Corn. Selections will include brats, hot dogs, dumplings, tacos, chicken, wraps, salads, jambalaya, sliders, pastries, beer, wine, lemonade, coffee, mini-hot doughnuts, and soda. We will be offering vegan and gluten-free options.

The Wisconsin Craft Brewery Beer Garden will be operated by the Fitchburg Chamber Business and Visitors Bureau. Wisconsin’s best brews and wines will be flowing next to the Capital Stage with live music all day. Table seating will also be available in this area.

The Children’s Art Yard, sponsored by Magic 98, will be a fundraiser for Woods Hollow Children’s Center and feature a variety of art projects for kids of all ages to have fun and be creative. This area will be hosted near the Agora Pavilion. Nominal fees apply.

The Hands-On Art Experience presented by Yahara Bay Distillery will have opportunities for adults to paint their own masterpieces.
Our event would not be possible without Sponsorship from the following organizations: Promega Corporation, SprintPrint, BMO Harris Bank, Capital Brewery, Yahara Bay Distillery, Terravessa of Fitchburg, Madison Essentials Magazine, Magic 98, Fitchburg Star/Connect Fitchburg, the Agora, Fitchburg Center, and the Fitchburg Chamber Visitor and Business Bureau.

This event is free to attend and open to the public. The Agora Art Fair takes place rain or shine. Plenty of free parking will be available with free shuttles running throughout the day from the surrounding parking areas. Volunteer opportunities are available.

The Agora is located two miles south of Highway 12/18 (Beltline) off Fish Hatchery Road.
