Free Science Thursday program is for families of all ages sponsored by Dudgeon Monroe Neighborhood Association and Wingra Boats. There are no reservations just come and learn! More information can be found at Dmna.org or campwingra@outdoormadison.com.

Here is the full 2017 Free Science Thursday programming schedule:

• June 15: Fox & Coyotes in Madison! U.W. Prof. Drake, Dept. of Forest & Wildlife Ecology will share about UW Urban Canid Project and how they are tracking fox and coyotes in Madison. 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• June 22: What in the World is a Watershed? Dave Spitzer, Naturalist/Educator will talk about where our water goes and how we can help protect our lakes. 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• June 29: What’s all the Buzz about Bees? Jeanne Grist, Bee Keeper/Apiarist – will share about the important role of bees in our world. Come see a hide and taste honey. 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• July 6: Reptiles, Snakes and More! Madison Herpetology Society will share live reptiles that you won’t want to miss! 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• July 13: Beavers,The Good and The Bad; Lisa Andrewski, UW Arboretum Naturalist will share about Beavers in the UW Arboretum. 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• July 20: Pollinators — Bats, Bugs, and Birds; Amy Callies, Educator/Naturalist will share how animals and insects help our flowers and us! 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• July 27: Insects – Dane County Humane Society will bring and share some cool insects with us! 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• August 3: Monarchs- Dr. David Thompson, Friends of Lake Wingra will talk about and bring monarchs for children to observe and to send them on their journey. 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• August 10: Zoo Animals at Wingra- Henry Vilas Zoo Educators will bring the animals to us!
6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• August 17: Fireflies and Bioluminescence- Dawn Liska-Tollefson, Wingra Middle School Teacher will help us understand how fireflies convert chemical energy into light! 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.

• August 24: Skins and Skulls, Oh My! Sherry Hershberger, Aldo Leopold Naturalist will treat us to an evening of amazing animal finds! 6:00- 7:00 at Wingra Boats 824 Knickerbocker Street.
