Workers at Colectivo Coffee are entering the final stretch of their push to organize a union, as ballots sent to more than 300 staffers at the coffeeshop chain earlier this month were due about two hours ago.
Next Tuesday, those ballots will be tallied and an announcement about the vote will likely be made shortly afterwards.
For an update on the unionization effort, WORT producer Jonah Chester spoke with Dean Warsh, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 494 out of Milwaukee. Warsh, and IBEW, have played a key role in helping the Colectivo workers organize over the past year.
