Last month, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the creation of a new denaturalization task force to investigate thousands of naturalized Americans suspected of lying on their citizenship applications. Today’s guest, Stephanie DeGooyer, will shed some light on this new development in a broader discussion with host Esty Dinur about immigration, naturalization, and the “right to have rights.”
Stephanie DeGooyer is an assistant professor of English at Willamette University and a Frieda L. Miller Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. She is the co-author (with Alastair Hunt, Lida Maxwell, and Samuel Moyn) of The Right to Have Rights, published by Verso in 2018.
