In 2020, Wisconsinites generated around 854,000 tons of food waste and scraps, which ended up in landfills across the state. With this statistic in mind, it’s no wonder that last year the city of Madison committed to reducing their amount of food waste by half.
Earlier this week, the City of Madison announced a new food scrap drop-off program, operating at the South Madison Farmers’ Market starting on June 14th.
