President Donald Trump’s proposed budget includes cutting funds for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds public media outlets like NPR and PBS.
It’s not the first time a Republican has proposed cutting funds for the group… Trump included gutting them last year as well, and it’s not a new idea among GOP lawmakers either.
Despite hyper-charged debate, public broadcasting only makes up a tiny fraction of the federal budget, somewhere around 0.2 percent.
