Just last year, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published a special report detailing the impacts of raising the average global temperature 1.5 degrees Celsius. The impacts range from rising sea levels to more devastating weather systems to heavy droughts with no end in sight. With a growing number of publications, reports and articles documenting the impacts of man-made climate science, it can become harrowing to imagine the realities of a future heading for climate catastrophe. But more and more groups are declaring opposition to the status quo and demanding action from the government to address the effects of global climate change for a sustainable future. Extinction Rebellion (XR) is one of many groups that has plans to pursue a healthy climate future.
