Last Friday, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office released more information about the shooting of Quadren Wilson.
In the press release, the Sheriff’s Office stated that they found no evidence that Wilson had a weapon during the shooting, and named the two Department of Criminal Investigations agents who shot Wilson five times in the back. They were identified as Mark Wagner and Nathan Peskie.
Earlier today, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi called out the Sheriff’s Office, demanding more transparency in the investigation and continued to ask why 21 law enforcement officers were needed in the arrest.
Parisi says that he wants the Sheriff’s Office to provide regular updates on the investigation to the public.
Earlier today, WORT Producer Nate Wegehaupt spoke with Executive Parisi about the press release.
Shortly after recording the interview, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office put out their own press release, stating that information has been withheld by the Sheriff’s Office to protect the integrity of the investigation.
They say that the investigation is in compliance with Wisconsin law on officer involved shootings.
