Today marks the 53rd anniversary of Stonewall, and 2022 also marks the 40th anniversary of Wisconsin becoming the first state to outlaw housing and employment discrimination for someone’s sexual orientation. The “Gay Rights Bill,” as it was known at the time, was a landmark ruling for the LGBTQ+ community, and helped pave the way for further rights.
