The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Digital Craft Research Laboratory is dedicated to the democratization of tools and the means of production. From prosthetic hands designed by the nine-year olds who will use them, to stair climbing wheelchairs, the DCRL has been churning out prototypes of revolutionary products at a fraction of the price of traditional manufacturing. Associate Professor, artist and metalsmith Frankie Flood is the director of the Digital Craft Research Lab, and he joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing on April 27th, 2015.
