We continue with our series on racial disparities in Dane County’s criminal justice system. Last week, we spoke to the Madison Police Department about racial disparities in arrest rates. This week, we’re looking at what happens after arrests are made. According to the recent Race to Equity report, blacks in Dane County make up less than 5% of the population aged 18-54, but account for 52% of those incarcerated. If you are black in Dane County, you are 22 times more likely to be incarcerated than if you are white. Joining Monday Buzz host Brian Standing in the studio is Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne.
