Despite their calm beauty, Wisconsin’s Great Lakes and inland waterways have a treacherous history. More than 700 ships have sank beneath Wisconsin’s waters since the first days of European colonization. No one knows those shipwrecks better than Tamara Thomsen, a maritime archaeologist with the Wisconsin Historical Society. Thomsen’s award-winning work has been enshrined in the National Register of Historic Places, and in 2014, she was inducted into the Women Diver’s Hall of Fame. Tamara Thomsen joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing on May 6, 2019.
