Imagine a jellyfish, drifting through the ocean, carried by the current and floating endlessly throughout. That is Luisa, a seventeen year old girl and protagonist of the story “Sea Monsters: A Novel.” She harbors dreams of attending university abroad, far away from her hometown of Mexico City. Or not. Who knows? That indecision seems to define the mood of the story, as our protagonist becomes entangled with romance and love, or perhaps just the possibility of it, and chases after the mysteries that have eluded her for far too long. But along the way, she learns, maybe it was she that was eluding the mysteries all along. Joining us is Chloe Aridjis, London-based Mexican writer and author of three novels, most recently “Sea Monsters: A Novel” which made its debut last month.
