When you go into cardiac arrest, every minute counts, and that can be a major problem for people living in rural areas, where the nearest hospital could be hours away.
One UW Madison researcher has a unique solution to getting live-saving technology to people in rural areas quickly. That solution? Drones.
Justin Boutilier is Assistant Professor of Engineering at UW-Madison. According to his research, drone-delivered defibrillators can increase the survival rate of cardiac arrest by up to 72 percent.
