Rains last week brought some relief to parched areas of Arizona, Texas and the Great Plains. California, however continues to suffer through its worst drought on record, lasting over three years, with 80% of the state under exceptional drought conditions. The National Drought Mitigation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska provides research, tools, planning, monitoring and education to deal with drought. Climatologist Brian Fuchs has been studying current drought conditions for the NDMC and he joined the Monday Buzz on September 29.
