We continue the discussion of climate change. Last week, we discussed the science of climate change and a little of how climate change will effect human health and cities. Jonathan Patz was our guest to talk about these effects. Tonight, Jonathan’s colleague, Jason Vargo, also from the Global Health Institute, provides more details on these effects, and gives some examples of cities that have put some plans into action in dealing with these effects. Also, joining us again this week is Michael Notaro, Senior Scientist at the Center for Climatic Research. He discusses the effects that climate change has and will have on the Great Lakes.
For more information on Wisconsin’s objectives to climate change visit the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts and the Yahara 2070 websites. Here’s another great website called the Chicago Climate Action Plan, that describes dozens of effected areas of the City of Chicago, and what plans they have put in place to address climate change.
