Earlier this year, state Natural Resources Board member Fred Prehn was allowed to remain on the board by a decision from the state Supreme Court.
The Walker-appointed board member’s term on the board expired over a year ago, and Governor Evers has appointed a replacement, but as the Republican-led legislature has yet to confirm Evers’ appointee, Prehn is allowed to stay.
The debacle has caused multiple lawsuits, and yesterday one of those lawsuits went before a Dane County judge, with Midwest Environmental Advocates, a nonprofit environmental law center, claiming that Prehn violated the state’s open records laws.
Adam Voskuil is a staff attorney with Midwest Environmental Advocates, and argued the case in Dane County court yesterday.
