On Friday, a federal judge in Texas ruled against the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program — commonly known as DACA.
The ruling allows existing DACA recipients to keep their protected status, but it prohibits the Department of Homeland Security from approving new applicants.
While the Biden administration has promised to challenge the decision — for the time being, potential DACA recipients across the country have been left in an uneasy limbo.
