Last Friday, a federal appeals court ruled that utility companies building the Cardinal Hickory Creek power line cannot cross the Mississippi River.
The judges upheld a ruling from earlier this year, when a judge ruled that the environmental review for the line was inadequate.
The ruling is a win for the conservation groups who brought forward the lawsuit. Earlier today, WORT Producer Nate Wegehaupt spoke with Howard Leaner, the lead attorney representing the conservation groups.
Howard Leaner is the President and Executive Director of the Environmental Law and Policy Center, a legal advocacy group focusing on environmental issue in the Midwest.
