Pat Elder, founder of MilitaryPoisons.org, has been tracking PFAS chemical contamination for many years. According to Elder, “If you have an Air National Guard Base, you have problems”. These “forever” chemical contaminants were used for fire training exercises, where pits were dug into the ground, filled with jet fuel, lit on fire, and then trainees put out the fires with PFAS containing fire-fighting foam. Which naturally leaked into groundwater and drinking water. States are fighting these issues and progress can be seen here.
