Because it’s the time of year when harvests are pretty much in, and many of us will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week, Patty Peltekos is devoting this show to a topic we’ve talked about a lot over the past year. Today, we’re going to be talking about food and hunger, with guests Cindy Sink and George Reistad.
Cindy Sink is the marketing and strategy director for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, which is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Food Shuttle serves 275,000 residents in seven counties, the counties that make up the Research Triangle of North Carolina.
George Reistad is Madison’s new Food Policy Coordinator. The City of Madison has lots of different programs that address food issues, including access to food and growing food. Today we’ll learn more about what the city is doing to make sure all Madison residents have access to healthy, affordable food.
