When foraging for types of edible wild plants, the first thing that comes to mind are wild mushrooms. But you need to know the difference between the delicacy of truffles to those that are poisonous. But mushrooms are not the only wild edibles. In tonight’s episode of the Perpetual Notion Machine, Lincoln Tice talks with expert Wisconsin forager Samuel Thayer. He is the author of several books including one coming out in November called Incredible Wild Edibles: 36 plants that can change your life. Sam discusses many different kinds of edible plants, including a variety of nuts, and fruits and berries. Who thought that acorns could be edible?
