Here in Madison, technological innovation comes from our entrepreneurs and small businesses. But how does someone with an idea get started? Perhaps at the largest technology fair in the Midwest – Forward Fest 2017, which will be held from Aug. 17 to 24 at various venues. So, the Perpetual Notion Machine has invited three guests on the show. First, PNM’s Kai Brito talks with Laura Strong to give us a preview of the fest. Besides being a spokesperson for Forward Fest, Laura is also the founder and CEO of Propagate Health. She describes how Forward Fest has grown since the first year in 2010 to over 50 events and thousands of attendees. The fest gives attendees the opportunity to pitch ideas and learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Then Kai talks with two event leaders. Heather Wentler from Doyenne Group discusses how they encourage and mentor women into tech fields. And 14 year old AJ Carr discusses how Building Bosses hopes to teach youth the importance of leadership, entrepreneurship, and service. This is the real future of the economy.
