According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Black infant mortality rates in Wisconsin are the highest in the nation.
To address this issue, the Dane County Health Council teamed up with the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness to launch a new program to assist Black women and birthing persons.
The program, called Connect R-X, aims to connect Black mothers with medical and community resources to assure the health of their children.
To learn more about the program, WORT Producer Nate Wegehaupt spoke with the founder, CEO, and president of the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness, Lisa Peyton-Caire.
