Today in 1865: The state of Georgia provides the final vote needed for the 13th Amendment to become part of the U.S. Constitution, abolishing slavery.
Two days before, Mississippi’s legislature had voted to reject ratification. Mississippi didn’t ratify the anti-slavery amendment until 1995.

Tomorrow, the City of Madison Parks Department hosts the 14th annual HolidayFest Arts and Crafts Show with door prizes, live music, and over 80 crafters from the Midwest! This weekend is Creating for Causes: a Holiday Art fair for M.O.M., or Middleton Outreach Ministry. Hours are Saturday from 1 to 7pm, and Sunday from 9 to 3pm.
