Today in 1991: Jeffrey Collins is awarded a 5.3 million dollar settlement from Shell Oil which had fired him for being gay.
Collins had offered to settle out of court for $50,000, but Shell refused.

Each Sunday through September, Olbrich Gardens offers a free Guided Garden Stroll. Strolls start and end in the lobby near the Garden entrance and are about 45 to 60 minutes in length. No registration is required. Strolls are held rain or shine and will be cancelled only in the event of dangerous lightning. This is Sunday at 1:30 and 3pm at Olbrich, 3330 Atwood Avenue.
