Radio Astronomy host Aaron Lopez tells us about how scientists might use Gaia Data Release 2. The Gaia Data Release 2 is a star catalog that came from the European Space Agency. The Gaia Data Release 2 had the potential to give us an exponential amount of data on stars. It took 22 month to collect the data. Gaia is equipped with a photo meter and a spectrometer, which allows Gaia to see the brightness, color and motion of the stars.
