On November 13, world leaders in Glasgow, Scotland finally reached a new climate pact. The deal includes a call for a “phasedown” of fossil fuels, and a framework for a carbon credit exchange. U.S. envoy John Kerry defended the deal, saying it “puts the world closer to avoiding climate chaos.” But, activist Greta Thunberg called the Glasgow COP26 deal “a failure” and Tonganese activist Elizabeth Kite says it “won’t save her island nation from drowning. “ John Greenler, Executive Director of 350 Madison and Gail Nordheim, Chair of the Board of 350 Madison, joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing on November 15, 2021.
