MADISON (WORT) — The Wisconsin legislature’s Joint Finance Committee voted this week to strip Dane County of its ability to advise the Department of Natural Resources on water quality management within the county. The motion would also require the DNR to base its decisions on state standards rather than more-stringent standards set by the county. No other county has been prohibited from local input in this way. Bekah Wilce has the story.
