As any high-speed rail enthusiast will tell you, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker holds a legendary disdain for federal funding. Recently, however, the governor has reversed course one such federal funding stream: aid for vocational training and rehabilitation for disabled workers. Last month, Walker announced that he would support SB 274, a bill introduced into the State Senate by Democrat Jennifer Schilling. SB 274 would increase state spending on the disabled by three point nine million dollars to leverage an additional fourteen million dollars in federal funding. Tegan Wendland from the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism joined host Brian Standing on October 7, 2013 with the latest on the governor’s turnaround.
