“When difference is an inextricable truth of our reality, how can the art of conversation become a strategy for survival?”
This is the question at the heart of Primer for an Impossible Conversation, a new dance performance coming virtually to Madison this week that has been described as “a collage of imagery, movement, humor, and dialogue” dealing with the difficult conversation of unpacking race and racism.
Today on the show, Ali Muldrow spends the hour with Marcella Murray, a theatre artist and one of the creators of Primer for an Impossible Conversation.
Marcella Murray is a New York–based theater artist from Augusta, Georgia. She is a playwright, performer, collaborator, and puppeteer. She is one of the co-creators of Primer for an Impossible Conversation, a performance described as “a collage of imagery, movement, humor, and dialogue.”
The Wisconsin Union is hosting two performances of Primer for an Impossible Conversation this week on Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9 at 7:30 PM. The event is pay-what-you can. More information available here.
