Since we’ve (hardly) no place to go; unheard are cries of “Let it snow!” – Maybe you’re thinking you’d like to hear a wintry mix of holiday and Christmas tunes to light up your nights? You are in luck! Here’s a list of the shows on WORT that featured some or all holiday music this year.
Wow, that’s a lot…about 37 shows’ worth of carols and cheer! It does seem like more people did holiday shows this year than usual, probably because we could all use some cheering up about now. You’ll find traditional and modern songs about winter, Hanukkah, Solstice, Yule, Christmas, Kwanzaa and more spanning many different decades and genres of music across the globe. Some specials also feature comedy, local artists, full length concerts and other rare gems from the WORT digital/CD/vinyl vaults, alongside the wonderful personal collections of our truly amazing and dedicated hosts. It’s definitely ear candy for any lover of nostalgia, tradition and holiday tidings and will culminate with an all-day celebration on Saturday from 5 am until 10 pm right here on Madison’s community radio station.
