Homeless in Wisconsin
On any given night, there are 4,000 homeless in the State which isn’t just an issue for the larger metropolitan areas. Those dealing with homelessness can be found in every corner of the State, both rural and urban. Mike Basford, director of the State of Wisconsin Interagency Council on Homelessness, speaks with Tony Castañeda of the Thursday Morning 8 O’Clock Buzz about efforts to address this pressing issue. Mike points out there has been recent progress, including the governor’s budget proposal to increase funding to record highs, but the number one issue is finding affordable housing and the obstacles complicating a solution to this problem.
