Doug Keith, Katz Fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice, has recently published a study looking at the effects of 6 one-vote decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, and their effects on changes in campaign funding across the country. The “Citizens United” is the most well known of these, but each has contributed to the excessive outside interest spending common in elections today. The study is entitled “Beyond ‘Citizens United’: How the Supreme Court Empowered the Very Wealthiest in Elections“.
