Today as we observe Juneteenth and celebrate the freedom of all people in the United States, Ali hosts a critical conversation about ongoing racial injustice and the impact of intolerance and discrimination on young people. Together with guest Jeff Spitzer-Resnick, she takes a close look at the racial dynamics in our public schools, particularly through major incidents of the past year including the Baraboo Nazi salute photo and the physical altercation at Whitehorse Middle School.
Jeff Spitzer-Resnick is a Madison-based civil rights attorney. He is the president of Madison’s Shaarei Shamayim congregation and chair of the Madison chapter of J Street, a non-profit advocacy group working for a peaceful resolution between Israel and Palestine.
