Ali Berlow is the author of The Food Activist Handbook: Big & Small Things You Can Do to Help Provide Fresh, Healthy Food for Your Community (2015) and The Mobile Poultry Slaughterhouse (2013). She is the founding executive director of the Island Grown Initiative, a non-profit farm-to-school program dedicated to building and supporting a resilient community food system. Berlow is a Madison native but now divides her time between Madison, Vermont, and Martha’s Vineyard, where she co-hosts The Local Food Report on local public radio station WCAI.
