The project brought twenty-two allies together for a nine-week course that centered black voices in climate justice. Today in 1984, a massive tornado ripped through the town of Barneveld, located southwest of Madison. Damage from the tornado includes ninety-three flattened homes, sixty-four damaged homes, and the destruction of seventeen businesses.

Today in 1915, guitarist Les Paul was born in Waukesha. Paul was a pioneer in the music industry, revolutionizing engineering techniques such as echo delay and multi-tracking. The Les Paul guitar was built and marketed by Gibson and has been used by the likes of Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.

Today in 2007, the series finale for television show The Sopranos aired on HBO. Tomorrow is the kick-off for We Read, a year-round, all-aged celebration of reading through Madison Public Library. From noon to two pm, stop into one of five library branches to color designs, create comics, and decorate a tote bag that you can fill with your favorite library books, to check out of course.
