WORT disk jockey and long-time music journalist Sal Serio (“D.J. el Serpentine”) had the opportunity to speak via telephone with indie bass legend Mike Watt, prior to Watt’s performance as a member of IL SOGNO DEL MARIANIO at the High Noon Saloon on Monday, Sept, 29. Serpentine first met Watt over 30 years ago on the Minutemen’s historic “Double Nickels On The Dime” tour, and has interviewed and hung out with Watt quite a few times over the years and on various tours, making this conversation more intimate and casual than many of these sorts of “interviews” typically are. Please listen to WORT 89.9 FM on Thursday, Sept 25, at approximately 8:30 pm during “Psychoacoustics” for Part 1 of this special, and Part 2 on Friday, Sept 26, at approximately 3:30 pm during “Who Cooks For You”.
Il Sogno Del Marinaio is music collaboration, from punk to jazz, from straight rock to avant garde, from chaos to harmony.
Il Sogno Del Marinaio (in Italian means “The Sailor’s Dream”) is a trio made of Andrea Belfi, Stefano Pilia & Mike Watt and they will do their first tour of the USA to support the August 26, 2014 release of their second album “Canto Secondo” this fall from September 10 to November 1, 53 gigs in 53 days. The tour comes to the High Noon Saloon in Madison WI, on Monday, September 29, 2014.

Some info about Il Sogno Del Marinaio:
Andrea Belfi (drums) and Stefano Pilia (guitar) are from Italy. They are young talented musicians, composers, artists and performers. A very interesting story started when in November of 2009 these guys invited Mike Watt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Watt) to play six gigs in their homeland. Even though they’re both 21 years younger than Watt, all three collaborated to write songs, preform gigs and record an album, “La Busta Gialla” in the middle of these six gigs which they supported later with a European tour when it was released. With this, a successful band Il Sogno Del Marinaio was born.
