Representatives from the City of Madison’s Engineering Department will hold a community meeting to discuss the reconstruction of Emerson and Lowell Streets tonight from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at the Goodman Library, 2222 South Park Street. Phone 266-6395 for information.
The West Madison Senior Coalition will offer meals to those 60 and older on Wednesday, January 24th from noon to 1 p.m. at the Meadowridge Library, 5726 Raymond Road. There is a suggested minimum donation of $4.00, but participants can contribute what is affordable. Transportation is also available with an additional $1.00 donation. Meal and bus reservations or cancellations should be made today by calling 238-0196.
The Literacy Network is collecting used books to re-sell to raise funds to support its classes and provide textbooks for free adult programs that help raise literacy. Donated books can be dropped off at the Literacy Network office, 701 Dane Street, preferably between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Contact 244-3911 for information.
Online signups for WORT’s winter pledge drive are now available! The drive runs from Monday, February 26th thru Sunday, March 11th. To help the station and join the fun, sign up directly via the WORT web site at wortfm.org or call 256-2001 during business hours.
