This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Monday, August 26th
It’s today’s Action Calendar!
A free presentation titled, “20 Years Since Voting for Freedom: Village Health in East Timor Today”, will be offered by Dr. Dan Murphy this evening at 7 p.m. in Madison’s Central Library, 201 West Mifflin Street. In 1999, the people of East Timor voted to end a brutal occupation by the Indonesian military. As a result, a thousand Timorese were killed and hundreds of thousands were displaced. Dr. Murphy has provided free medical care at a clinic he founded in East Timor since 1998. For information, phone 266-6300.
Enjoy a free family storytime session for toddlers and pre-schoolers on Tuesday, August 27th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Lussier Family East YMCA, 711 Cottage Grove Road. The session offers songs, activities and play designed to build literacy skills and foster a love of reading. For information, phone the Pinney Library at 224-7100.
WORT needs a weekly volunteer receptionist on Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. We also need fill-in receptionists who have some availability on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and who have email access. For more information, email email@example.com with Volunteer Receptionist in the subject line. Or, call Glenn at 608-321-9596. If leaving a message, please provide your phone number and email address.
