This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Thursday, February 9th
It’s today’s Action Calendar!
Free one-on-one coaching sessions for general and job-related writing projects are available from 4 to 7 p.m. tonight at the Hawthorne Library, 2707 East Washington Avenue. Writing projects of any kind can be covered, including resumes and cover letters, applications or other forms. Basic computer help is also available. Call 608-246-4548 today to sign up for a one-hour session. Drop-ins are welcome.
The Madison Police Department is offering free training on how to respond to active shooter events tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Department’s Training Center, 5702 Femrite Drive. It’s unfortunate that sudden violence by an individual bent on killing innocent people is a reality. The good news is the likelihood of finding yourself under fire by an active shooter is equivalent to being struck by lightning. Learn about the simple things you can do to respond effectively to this unthinkable situation. This class is a statistically based training program for all members of the Madison community.
Unwind at the library as a family with evening storytime tonight from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Boulevard. Bring your dinner or snack and join us for stories, puppets, and songs to appeal to all ages. Includes a built-in time to read together as a family. Pick out a great book from Ms. Rebecca’s stack to take home and read before bed that night. No registration necessary. Call 608-266-6385 for information.
