The public is encouraged to attend tonight’s meeting of the Madison Arts Commission to hear the three artists chosen as finalists for the Pennsylvania Park Public Art Project present their proposals for artwork in the park. The meeting will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Library, 2707 East Washington. Pennsylvania Park will be located along East Johnson Street. Each artist will have 20 minutes to present and 10 to 15 minutes for question and answers. Phone 246-4548 for information.
Interested in starting a career in the construction industry? The Construction and Remodeling Technical Diploma Program at Madison College trains students to find construction work in a variety of roles. Participants receive the academic and advising support that leads to a successful college experience. Classes begin Monday, January 29th. Phone 258-2440 for details.
Decluttering your home? The Literacy Network is collecting used books to re-sell to raise funds to support its classes and tutors and provide textbooks for free adult programs that help raise literacy. Donated books can be dropped off at the Literacy Network office, 701 Dane Street, preferably between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Contact 608-244-3911 for guidelines on the types of materials that can be accepted.
