This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Thursday, June 7th
It’s today’s Action Calendar!
Enjoy an evening of rare jazz films tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Boulevard. WORTs Gary Alderman, a world-class jazz collector, will share an in-depth jazz video presentation of historically significant, innovative and entertaining jazz performances from the 1940s through mid-century and beyond. The program will include seldom-seen performances from primarily American and European sources. A question and answer session will follow. This free event is part of the 2018 Isthmus Jazz Fest.
It’s time for the always fun, always hoppin’ WORT summer pledge drive! Come on down to the station to help out with phone shifts this week through the conclusion of the pledge drive on Sunday, June 17th. Answering the pledge phones and thanking the wonderful doners who keep WORT on the air is a great way to connect with your fellow WORT listeners. Sign up for a shift on your favorite show from WORT’s home page at wortfm.org.
