As part of the International Women’s Strike scheduled for today, March 8th, to protest social, legal, political, verbal and moral sexism across the globe, a speaking event is happening at 7 p.m. tonight on the UW Campus at the George Mosse Humanities Building, 455 North Park Street. Support women’s solidarity against Trump. Community organizers from across the Midwest, including speakers Darletta Scruggs, Organizer with Chicago Socialist Alternative and Katie Quarles, who serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Nurses Association. Bill Lueders, associate editor at “The Progressive” magazine. will speak on “Transparency and Truth in Government” tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Basics Cooperative Natural Food Store in Janesville. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
