Help shape the future of historic preservation in Madison! The City is in the early stages of developing its first ever Historic Preservation Plan. The public is invited to a community gathering tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at East High School, 2222 East Washington, to share ideas and comments on aspects that should be covered in the plan. These include historic resources, heritage tourism, underrepresented communities, sustainability, education, and others. The community gathering format will be very interactive and will allow you to participate in different ways. Phone 266-6552 for information,
A free fall prevention workshop series for older adults, titled “Stepping On”, kicks off on Tuesday, May 22nd from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Goodman South Library, 2222 South Park Street. One in every four adults over age 65 falls every year and falls are the number one cause of injury death among older adults in Wisconsin. Research shows that adults who take the seven week long workshop gain confidence, reduce falls by over 30% and have fewer hospitalizations and emergency department visits. Phone 266-6395 for information.
