This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Monday, December 2nd
Hi, this is Mary Helen.
We are looking for concerned citizens to participate in a Nationwide Citizens Commission on the Monetary system and Just Money.
You might think, “Mo-ne-ta-ry system? Thanks anyway. I’ll sit this one out.”
That is an honest and valid response, but I must ask. Do you want our money system be just and lawful? Does the stork bring the money, or what?
Just Money reformers are not economists. We are people like you, with families, jobs and a strong commitment to a world that works for future generations.
Didn’t you learn these three things in school?
1. That our government creates our money. 2. That banks lend money from savings deposits. 3. That the Federal Reserve Banks are part of our government.
None of this is true, but it all should be. Understanding money reform is really that simple. Make the monetary system conform to what we already think it is.
Banks should not have special privilege to create money any more. Right, for 400 years the banks have been in charge of supplying the money – with government cover.
It is shocking, yes, but well confirmed by Richard Werner’s comparative study in 2012, then, formally admitted by the big central banks in 2013. Please look it up.
You are invited to consider with us the fact of banks creating the money, why it matters, Our study group meets at Central Library, 1: 00 Tuesdays thru December 17, discussing one chapter each week from the book, LOST SCIENCE OF MONEY, by Stephen Zarlenga, and available online in pdf.
Repeat: Lost Science of Money, Tuesdays at 1:00, Central Library.
The kiosk brings you commentaries from members of the public. All opinions expressed are those of the speakers. Have an idea for your own two-minute commentary? Go to wortfm.org/kioskcommentary.
It’s today’s Action Calendar!
Knit and nibble from 1 to 3 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3rd, at the Hawthorne Library, 2707 East Washington Avenue. Everyone is welcome for a couple of hours of needlework and conversation. Bring a snack to share and any knitting, crocheting, embroidery projects you’re working on. Instruction and advice is also available. Phone 246-4548 for information.

No journalism experience needed. WORT will provide training. The ideal candidate will be open-minded, curious, meticulous and a bulldog about nailing the facts. Being comfortable working on deadline is also critical. Shifts are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from approximately 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call the station at 256-2001 and ask for Interim News Director Chali (SHAH-lee) Pittman.
The Respite Center is a safe place for kids, ages birth to fourteen, whose families are under stress or in crisis. They need volunteers to play with kids four hours a week. Training is required. Call 244-5730 for details.
