A free “How-To Fest” on putting your garden to bed for the fall will be offered on Saturday, November 11th from 1 to 5p.m. at the Goodman Library, 2222 South Park Street. By following a few simple tips for fall bedtime in the garden, you can enjoy a more beautiful winter and a relaxing, rewarding spring. Join a UW Master Gardener Volunteer who’ll discuss and demonstrate techniques, tips and tools to help you tackle and enjoy! Phone 266-6395 for information.
Sign up for a free one-hour session on Saturday, November 11th with a Computer Coach at the Alicia Ashman Library, 733 North High Point Road. You’ll receive individualized instruction on using the Word program for word processing, building spreadsheets with Excel and other computer basics. Bring your own laptop or use one of the library’s PC’s. Call 824-1780 today to register.
Enjoy a free, family-friendly nature walk through Turville Point, 1156 Olin Turville Court, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 12th. Turville Point is a natural peninsula on the west end of Lake Monona offering spectacular shoreline views. Watch migratory birds, wildlife, trees and plants changing with the season and getting ready for winter. Enjoy hot chocolate and share stories around a fire after the outing.
