Wisconsin Public Television and the Goodman Community Center invite you to join your neighbors for dinner, dialogue and a screening of the film “Do Not Resist”, this evening with doors opening at 5 p.m. at the Goodman Center. 149 Waubesa Street. The film explores the rapid militarization of the police in the United States. The dinner will be served until 6:15 p.m. with the screening and discussion following. The Madison Fire Department opens its doors to prospective firefighters during a Recruitment Open House this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fire Station Number 7, 1810 McKennen Road.
With the job application period running to November 30th, Department representatives will answer questions about the hiring process, describe what a career with the MFD is like, and share what the Department looks for in an applicant. For information, phone 266-4420.
Decluttering your home? The Literacy Network is collecting used books to re-sell to raise funds to support its classes and tutors and provide textbooks for free adult programs that help raise literacy. Donated books can be dropped off at the Literacy Network office, 701 Dane Street, preferably between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. The Insurgent Radio Kiosk is a four minute pre-recorded segment featuring a commentary and a calendar of daily events. Events must be low cost or non-profit and of interest to people in and around the WORT listening area and where other media might not highlight.
